Marc Jacobs is one of the most famous and influential American fashion designers. He first found success selling a line of sweaters while in school at Parsons, and designed his first Marc Jacobs collection in 1986. In 1987, he became the youngest designer to win the CFDA's Perry Ellis award for new talent. After working at Perry Ellis for several years, Jacobs went on to create his first menswear collection in 1994. in 1997, Jacobs was appointed the creative director of Louis Vuitton and tasked with designing their first even full line of ready-to-wear clothing. Jacobs stayed ay LV until 2014, and since then has continued been one of the most outspoken and respected names in fashion.
